I was in the Air Force at the time, 1982.  I had been in the Air Force only two years at the time.  I was getting ready to go home to see my mom and dad for the weekend, for no special reason.  While I was packing the car I spotted a girl, her name was Penny.  She was traveling with her girlfriend who was visiting another Airman on base.  The day was September 30th, 1982.  The last day of September.  Remember now that until this point I had never seen Penny before in my life.  We talked.  Chatted.  Dated.  One thing led to another.  On December the 4th, 1982, just about 8 weeks later, we had a church wedding, with wedding dress and cake included.  Try planning that in 8 weeks.  A lot of people said it can't last.  December 4th, 2007 we just celebrated out 25th anniversary.  By the way she stuck with me through thick and thin until I retired from the Air Force as well, 20 years, Technical Sergeant, U.S.A.F. Retired.

I had lost my job as a web designer and I needed money. I got a job as a waiter as Chili's. There I met a girl. We were friends for a long time. I even brought my girlfriend (at the time) over her house. After a few months, I asked her out. And after that, we were together. That was 5 years ago. This year, we actually got married, had a daughter and bought a house. What a happy ending.
