The San Angelo City Council has voted to put all construction and repairs on Bell Street to a halt. This was decided because they only received one bid, which was significantly higher than what the city has set aside in the budget.

The bidder, Reece Albert, pitched a 7.4 million dollar offer.

The city said they hope to get more bids and is waiting until the designs for all three phases of the project are completed. They will begin seeking bids in November and December. Moreover, this will push construction back to at least January or February of 2018.

A push to bid as one project is an effort to get a better price tag that will benefit tax payers.
