Rare books on display at Angelo State University

Angelo State University has all kinds of works on display that date hundreds of years back in time.

Angelo State University has rare books, manuscripts and novels on display at the University Center. These written works are all hundreds of years old.

This display also includes a handwritten Bible dating from 1230. Items showcased have originated from Asia, Europe and North America.

The most recent items are from the early 1900s.

The works are on loan from the remnant Trust.

But what makes this display special to the public is that it's not just for people to look at.

Executive director of library services, Maurice Fortin Ph.D, said, "What makes it special for ASU is that you cannot only come in and look at these items, but you can actually hold them, feel them, smell them and go through and see the rich artwork."

The display is free and open to the public from Oct. 9 through Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. But, on Friday, hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
