Joint proactive interdiction operation leads to 16 arrests for various criminal, immigration violations

The operation was a joint effort between local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — A multiple county highway contraband interdiction operation was conducted Nov. 16-18 in Tom Green County.

According to a press release from the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, the operation was a joint collaboration between local, state and federal law enforcement partners including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Angelo; the Tom Green County, Sutton County and Concho County sheriff's offices; U.S. Border Patrol; ICE-ERO; and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) - Highway Patrol.

The operation resulted in 10 criminal arrests for federal and state law violations; and six administrative arrests for federal immigration violations.

Arrests made include:

Jonathon Gallegos, arrested for possession of marijuana <2 oz.;

Andres Hermosillio, arrested for unlawful carry of a weapon and possession of controlled substance - THC;

Rafael Camacho, arrested for possession of marijuana <2 oz.;

Trevion Hogg, arrested on felony warrant;

Elizabeth Ruiz arrested for two Coryell County, Texas, felony warrants - forgery;

Jameela Coleman, arrested for possession of a controlled substance, <4g of cocaine; possession of marijuana <2oz; and ICE hold;

Clifton Gadison, arrested for possession of marijuana, 7.75 oz.;

Sara Schroyer, arrested for driving while intoxicated;

Muhammad Mustopa arrested for visa overstay violation;

Edgar Ferlando arrested for visa overstay violation;

Simon Medina-Martinez arrested for illegal entry;

Agustin Flores-Garcia arrested for illegal entry;

Marcos Bo-Cucul arrested for illegal entry;

Danil Garcia-Ortiz arrested for illegal entry;

Venustiano Bello-Patrana arrested for 8 USC 1326, illegal re-entry after deportation;

Carlos Villegas-Soto, convicted sexual offender, arrested for 8 USC 1326, illegal re-entry after deportation.

The identifications of two Crip gang members were also made in the operation, which was an HSI Panhandle West Texas (PWT) Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) led operation.
