Theft suspect arrested after chase in stolen vehicle

After crashing the stolen vehicle and running from the crash, the suspect was found hiding in a storage shed.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A man was arrested Thursday after he crashed the vehicle he was driving while fleeing from Tom Green County Sheriff's Office deputies.

The TGCSO said it was conducting a follow-up investigation on several recent burglaries and copper metal thefts. The man the department developed as a suspect was found in the 700 block of North Buchanan Street.

When deputies tried to make contact with the man, he fled in a stolen vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended when he crashed into a home on State Court.

He ran, but was found hiding in a storage shed in the 100 block of Arlington Street.

The suspect was identified as Nicholas Adam Medina and found to have an outstanding parole violation (blue warrant) and a warrant for evading arrest and detention.

He will be in the custody of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office with additional charges pending.

No one was injured during this action which included help from the San Angelo Police Department.
