A 9/11 remembrance ceremony took place Monday at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
Col. Ricky Mills, 17th Training Wing commander, spoke at the ceremony inside the Department of Defense Louis F. Garland Fire Academy.
"As we reflect on 9/11 let us honor the memory of all the service members and first responders and fellow Americans who lost their lives," Mills said.
Sgt. Kyle Dobler, fire instructor, said the city of San Angelo partnered with Goodfellow to ensure all the parties affected in 9/11 were represented.
"It's very important for us to remember that day and remember the brothers and sisters that we lost and also the civilians we lost on that particular day," Dobler said. "It being 16 years today it's a huge deal to us here at Goodfellow especially at the fire school and we want to make sure that we honor that."
