For the first time in Tom Green county history the Mcnease Convention Center was declared a temporary court room for the jury selection process in the capital murder case of Isidro De La Cruz.Over 300 potential jurors filled the seats inside the main room.
Jurors were given a questionnaire to fill out during what is called "general Voir dire”.
Once that is complete the attorneys will then narrow down the pool of people.
Then those jurors will go through individual questioning at the Tom green County courthouse.
The district attorney's office says the jury selection process could take several weeks.
Delacruz is accused of killing a 5-year-old little girl in 2014.
The state is seeking the death penalty in this case and Judge Ben Woodward is presiding over the trial.
