Local artists have the opportunity to showcase their work at De Nada Artisan Boutique

De Nada Artisan Boutique gives local artists the chance to sell and showcase their work.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — De Nada Artisan Boutique is owned by two sisters who decided to open up a business to help local artists showcase their work. Five years ago, Veronica Aguero and Rocio Pena opened up their first location and decided to do art shows. Each week, the sisters picked a theme and people handcrafted art pieces that would later be displayed in the boutique.

The drive to open up their own boutique began at a young age when they accompanied their parents to sell at flea markets on the weekends. Today, De Nada Boutique carries a variety of unique artisan items that represent their culture.

“Probably about 90 percent of our store is stuff that is handmade and created by local artists here in San Angelo. It’s very important to us because we want to give back to the community and show how many talented people are here in San Angelo,” co-owner Veronica Aguero said.

De Nada Artisan boutique displays artwork for young as 12. The boutique is dedicated to becoming an outlet for younger artists giving them the opportunity for others to see their talent.

“When I was younger as an artist I didn't really have a home to go to and express myself without judgement and so our doors are opened to everyone. De Nada’s mission is to have a safe space for artists,” co-owner Rocio Pena said.

De Nada Artisan boutique owners said San Angelo is filled with talented artist and encourages local artists to contact the shop to have their artwork showcased.
