Abilene man dies in motorcycle crash

ABILENE, Texas — An Abilene man died from injuries sustained when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle Monday evening.

According to the Abilene Police Department, Andrew David Baker, 29, of Abilene died in the crash that occurred at 7:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16.

Baker was riding a Kawasaki dirt bike headed west in the 5200 block of Laguna Drive at a high rate of speed. He ran the stop sign at the Presidio Street intersection and crashed into a car that  was headed south on Presidio.

Baker was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. APD said Baker was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Next-of-kin notification was made. The investigation is ongoing.
