SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo Elks Lodge #1880 will hold its annual Flag Day ceremony at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at 2121 S. Chadbourne St.
All veterans’ organizations and the public are invited to attend the ceremony.
There will be a potluck dinner following the ceremony. The Lodge asks anyone who wants to stay and eat with the group to bring a favorite dish to share with guests.
U.S. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed June 14 as the official date for Flag Day in 1916. In 1949, the United States Congress permanently established the date as National Flag Day.
