SAN ANGELO, Texas — The procession escorting the body of Concho County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Stephen Jones will travel through San Angelo Wednesday morning.

According to San Angelo Police Chief Frank Carter (via social media), the procession was scheduled to leave Lubbock at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday and its estimated time of arrival in San Angelo is 10:30 a.m.

The procession will travel straight down Bryant Boulevard, turn right on Twohig Avenue and into the Johnson’s Funeral Home back parking lot.

In a Facebook post Tuesday evening, Carter asked San Angelo residents: "Line the street and show your support for this hero."

Jones was one of two Concho County deputies killed Monday night in Eden. An Eden city employee was shot and critically wounded in the incident as well.
