Two men arrested after 6.5 pounds of meth found in vehicle

Two men from West Texas towns have been arrested after a Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputy found 6.5 pounds of methamphetamine in their vehicle.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE TOM GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: "On Monday, March 19, 2018, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputy Syed Shah initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Ford Focus for a traffic violation in the 8000 block of U.S. Hwy 87 North in Tom Green County. The vehicle was being operated by Todd James Kruse. As Deputy Shah was in the process of conducting his violator contact, Deputy Shah developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle three kilos (approximately 6 ½ pounds) of methamphetamine was discovered in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Todd Kruse, the driver of the vehicle and the passenger identified as Omar Castaneda were both arrested and transported to the Tom Green County jail.

Both Todd Kruse and Omar Castaneda were booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Manufacturing and Delivery of a Control Substance PG1>= 400G. Kruse listed his address in Odessa, Texas and Castaneda listed his address in Snyder, Texas."
