Goodfellow AFB to hold active shooter training Thursday

Delays at both gates may be caused by heightened security measures on base.

GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas — Goodfellow Air Force Base will conduct an active shooter exercise on Thursday, April 21.

Individuals in the Goodfellow area may hear announcements over the “giant voice” system, sirens and/or see response vehicles during the exercise. A release from Goodfellow said no one should be alarmed.

Delays at both gates may be caused by heightened security measures on base.

"We regret any inconveniences these measures may cause our visitors," the release said.

Goodfellow officials ask people to plan to arrive early for appointments and call in advance to ensure appointments and services are not impacted.

Anyone with questions or concerns should contact Goodfellow Public Affairs at 17trw.pa2@us.af.mil.
