As temperatures continue to plummet for the winter, veterinarians tell all pet owners to bring your pets inside. A common belief is that dogs and cats are resistant to cold weather because of their fur but that is a myth. Like people, cats and dogs are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia.
For any animals left outside, make sure they have a warm shelter that blocks out wind.
Also, make sure they have blankets or hay for extra warmth and access to plenty of food and water.
