Andrews High School will have counselors on hand Friday.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — One person was killed in a crash in Midland County June 16 on Highway 80. The crash involved a 2022 International truck tractor and 2021 Ford Bronco.

25-year-old Stephanie Stokes of Andrews was killed in the crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The initial investigation revealed that the truck tractor was stopped on Hwy 80 blocking both westbound lanes. It attempted to turn into the eastbound lanes of Hwy 80.

The Ford Bronco, driven by Stokes, was in the westbound lane on Hwy 80. Stokes attempted to avoid a collision with the truck tractor, but failed and struck the rear of the truck tractor.

The driver of the truck tractor has been treated and released by EMS and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Stokes was a teacher at Andrews ISD last year. It was her first year teaching in the school district. Andrews High School will have counselors available Friday for anyone who needs to talk. The counselors will also be available to starting at 10 a.m. June 20.
