SAN ANGELO - Two explosions have been reported at a flooded Crosby chemical plant just north of Houston. Officials had said earlier the plant was at risk of exploding, according to the company that operates it. The plant lost power amid Harvey's days-long deluge, leaving it without refrigeration for chemicals that became volatile as the temperature rose. Early this morning black smoke was visible following the two explosions, which occurred around 2 a.m. Following the explosions, the Harris county sheriff's office said one deputy was taken to the hospital after inhaling fumes. Another nine drove themselves to the hospital as a precaution.
