SAN ANGELO, TX - Despite being in the height of flu season.
Doctors warn about the use of rapid flu tests, which give results in about fifteen minutes.
They say false results on these quick tests are becoming more common, which can pose a serious threat to vulnerable patients.
Dr. Lamia Kadir says, "I'm not a big fan of doing over-the-counter tests when you're dealing with something that's so contagious, potentially deadly, I think it's better to see your physician if you're having a hard time."
Those most at risk are the young and elderly.
They also say it is never too late to get a flu shot.
