Fort Concho Elementary hosts trash bag drive for victims of Harvey

Fort Concho Elementary School has put in a combined effort to help those in south Texas.

SAN ANGELO, TX - Fort Concho Elementary School has come together to gather supplies to help those in need in south Texas. 

Both parents and students approached the school with the idea to work together to get funds. They are currently collecting trash bags, baby food and canned goods. 

All these goods will be picked up Friday, Sept. 1 and will be delivered to the coast.

If more items are needed, they plan to host another drive the following week. 

Lori Barton, Fort Concho principal said, "Just puts things in perspective [of] how lucky we are that our schools are still open, that we have food, dry clothes, that our homes are okay and it gives them a sense of responsibility in reaching out to other it make them feel like they are doing something."
