Fox Means Business: June 6

Tuesday's business headlines.

One thousand reasons to Google…Google. Shares of Google’s parent company, Alphabet, crossed and closed above $1,000 for the first time ever on Monday. If you recall, another tech giant, Amazon, crossed the same milestone last week.

No milestone for the overall stock market on Monday though. The Dow, NASDAQ and S&P 500 all finished lower after closing at all-time highs on Friday.

A cautious outlook for our financial future: the National Association for Business Economists is slightly lowering its forecast for economic growth for this year and next ear. Most people in the group believe President Trump will succeed in cutting taxes and boosting infrastructure spending by the end of next year -- and any positive impact will be delayed until it happens.

And if you’re looking for a strong economy right now, you might want to head west. That’s because a new report from WalletHub just named Washington the state with the best economy. The number of high-paying high-tech jobs helped put it on top of the list.
