Fox Means Business: June 9

Friday's business headlines.

Talk about getting bang for your buck! Americans’ household net worth grew $2.4 trillion in the first three months of the year. The main reasons? Big gains in the stock market and home prices.

And if you’re looking to buy a home, look at this: the average for a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage dropped again this week. It’s now below 3.9 percent. That’s the lowest level in seven months.

Meantime, we’ve got a double recall from South Korean automaker Hyundai. The first one covers the Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport SUVs form 2013 through 2017. There are problems with the hood latches. The second covers some Genesis and Sonata models form 2015 and 2016, over faulty parking brake lights. The total recall impacts nearly 600,000 vehicles in the U.S.

And apparently, a lot of you are ready for the summer! According to a survey by global travel firm Generali, 66 percent of Americans plan on taking a vacation over the next few months – that’s up from last year.
