SAPD officer found injured after motorcycle crash

A San Angelo Police Officer was found injured after a motorcycle accident.

SAN ANGELO, TX - A San Angelo Police Officer was injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred on Oct. 18.

The accident occurred behind Police Headquarters on 401 E. Beauregard, around 10 a.m.

The injured officer was located in the parking lot by another patrolman. Other officers responded to the scene before the officer was transported to a nearby hospital. San Angelo Fire Department Medics treated the officer for incapacitating injuries. 

The officer is reported to be in stable conditions. 

A preliminary crash investigation revealed the officer was traveling south through the parking lot when he lost control of the motorcycle. After the officer became disconnected from the motorcycle, the bike continued to travel a short distance and collided with a city vehicle.
