SAN ANGELO, TX - The community of Tom Green County has opened a creative space called Makerspace and now it will have an opportunity to grow.

The creative space received a grant of $73,000.

The funds were granted by the Texas State Library and Archive Commission.

They will be hosting a "Discovery Night" where they can teach the San Angelo community about the resources Makerspace provides.

This will occur every first and third Tuesday of the month.

"Makerspaces are unique, they are amazing spaces and they are all about just like it says, 'making,' so Makerspace is all about hands on learning," Clint Hudson said. "It's about interaction. It's about working with others and it's about creating."

Makerspace invites everyone to come across technology that never existed before and prepare for the future.

It is located inside the Stephens Central Library in San Angelo.
