Oktoberfest celebration at the Bosque

The city of San Angelo hosts Bosque-toberfest on Oct. 7. A special announcement will also be made at 5 p.m. during the event.

SAN ANGELO, TX - Bosque-toberfest, it's a spin on Oktoberfest.

The one-day event is taking place from 2-7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Bosque.

The free event includes putt-putt golf, kayaking and paddle boats, a cupcake walk, prize giveaways and beer-themed races.

The event will also host food trucks and three tournaments, each with a 100-percent payback of entry fees to the winners, according to the city.

"We're gonna have some stein races, so there'll be fake beer in the steins while you're racing, have a little course set up and we'll have prizes for those winners there," Brent Casey, manager at San Angelo recreation, said.

The food trucks will be selling German sausage, bratwurst and sausages on a stick.

A German beer tasting will be available for anyone 21 or older with an ID.
