SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo police arrested drug trafficker Kevin Townsend, 37, after a police chase.
The department's street crimes division developed intelligence about the local who was said to be trafficking narcotics.
Police went to conduct a traffic stop but Townsend failed to stop and continued traveling to a residence on W. 15th St. Townsend was driving without a valid license.
When they arrived at the residence, Townsend exited his vehicle and proceeded to walk up to the residence with his keys and a red package. Townsend ignored the police's verbal commands but was detained as he entered the residence.
Police then found that red package to contain eight grams of cocaine.
Townsend was arrested for first degree felony manufacture delivery controlled substance and fleeing police. His bond is set over $50,000.
Townsend was transported to Tom Green County Jail.
The police department's K-9 Unit assisted with the field investigation.
