PETALUMA, CA - Two hundred thousand dollars’ worth of Star Wars memorabilia was stolen in California.
The owner, Steve Sansweet, said the items were not taken by a random thief, but by a trusted friend.
On a property not so far away is the home of the world’s largest private collection of Star Wars memorabilia, that began 40 years ago. But some key pieces are now missing - -120 pieces to be exact, worth $200,000.
“There’s a lot of stuff still very much in the air but we have faith in the Force,” Sansweet said.
Authorities arrested Sansweet’s long-time friend, Carl Cunningham, in connection with the case following a tip from a collector who suspected he was selling stolen items.
