Suspect of McDonalds shooting has been arrested

Ben Nelms, the alleged suspect of the McDonalds shooting, has been arrested.

SAN ANGELO, TX - Ben Nelms, the 20-year-old who allegedly discharged a firearm in a McDonalds parking lot, has been arrested. He was arrested Saturday, Aug. 19 and has been booked into jail with a $40,000 bond. 

The shooting happened on Tuesday, Aug. 15 around 2:30 p.m. when Nelms allegedly shot in the direction of a 19-year-old who Nelms was acquainted with.

After the shooting, Nelms drove away in a dark pickup truck that was later found, abandoned at the 1500 Block of Spaulding. 

Nelms was already wanted for endangering a 7-year-old earlier in August.
