SAN ANGELO, TX - The fall weather may mean you have to change your driving habits.
Department of Public Safety's Trooper Justin Baker says the rainy weather should cause more drivers to be alert on the roads.
"Anytime we have inclement weather we encourage drivers to change their habits," Baker said.
Baker says to slow down and be prepared for any conditions on the road that might be hazardous.
"Once that weather comes in you need to change your habits and be much more alert to the conditions and the surroundings," Baker said.
Baker also recommends drivers check their vehicle maintenance and the tread on the tires.
Meanwhile as temperatures cool down and fog conditions arise be cautious of your headlights.
"Use your headlights but do not use your high beams because it'll illuminate the fog and make it harder to see when driving," he said.
