Woman hit by car, searches for driver

Video surveillance shows a San Angelo woman and her husband moments before a vehicle bumps into her as its backs out of a parking space in the parking lot of Market Street.

SAN ANGELO, TX - A San Angelo woman was hit by a car in the parking lot of grocery store and is now trying to raise awareness to pedestrians and drivers.

Lindsay Nunez was walking to eat lunch with her husband on Sept. 29 when she says she was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of Market Street.

Video surveillance of the incident shows Nunez and her husband walking with her umbrella in hand as she tried to shield herself from the rain.

"It was raining we had our umbrellas it was hard to see," Nunez said.

The San Angelo Police Department posted a video trying to help locate the driver.

In the process many comments flooded the post on why Nunez appeared to keep walking away from the vehicle after being hit.

"I did try to stop them to get their attention or at least to get their license plate number," Nunez said.

Nunez says she isn't after money or looking to file any insurance claims.

Instead she wants to offer a message.

"When you're walking into a store just pay attention to your surroundings and if you're driving a vehicle always, always look behind you," she said.
