Jury selection in the Tiffany Klapheke pre-trial wrapped up in the 104th district courtroom. Twelve jurors and two alternate jurors have been seated, with opening arguments expected to begin tomorrow morning.
Klapheke is the mother accused of severe child neglect. One of her children reportedly died from malnutrition. She was arrested in August 2012 after a call to 911. Emergency personnel arrived to the family home on Dyess Air Force base where they found toddler Tamyrn Klapheke deceased.
Klapheke faces 5-99 years in prison if convicted of first degree felony injury to a child. The trial could take two weeks or more. The prosecution says two of the former CPS employees will invoke the 5th amendment if forced to testify in the case.
