ABILENE, Texas -- Abilene residents meet at the civic center Tuesday to discuss the future of parks in the city.
Residents were able to vote by putting stickers on posters of the types of parks they liked best.
They were also able to give feedback and suggestions on current ideas.
They had choices ranging from water parks, parks with tennis courts to even nature parks with walking trails.
One resident said him and his family are avid bikers and they want to see more bike trails.
"We are outdoors people and we want to make sure we provided some input so here we are, said Brandon Rangers.
Many people seemed to like the idea of remodeling existing parks before building new ones.
This is just the first step in a long process. Park officials will be going through the feedback before taking the next step.
