Abilene, TX -- It's
back to hitting the books on Monday and kids are making the best of their last
day at Spring Break Camp.
"I played with my brother outside," said 5-year-old Breylenne.
Another child, Gracie, said she was having 100 percent fun this Spring Break.
Spring Break Week is hosted by Recreation and Senior Services for the City of Abilene, and costs only fifty dollars for the entire week.
"Our goal is to make sure that we have them participate in a fun, safe and educational camp," said Recreation and Senior Services Administrator Jeff White.
"The children get to
experience many wonderful things, and activities that stimulate creativity, develop
teamwork skills, and leadership.
White says it was a great turnout this year, and a lot of that has to do with better marketing strategies.
"We had 44 kids last year and about 70 this year, so nearly double our increase."
The feedback will be reviewed this year in order to make the camp even better next Spring Break.
