Abilene, TX -- Some military children can move up to nine times between Kindergarten and High School. One app called The Big Moving Adventure has been created to help with that transition.
"I'm going to be sad because I'm going to miss my friends, and cry."
Moving isn't always easy for 9-year-old Kyera and 6-year-old Ethan, or for their cat, Julius.
"He'll always go into my suitcase when we were leaving and pee in it because he was mad."
But now there's something to help families go from a familiar place to the unknown.
It's colorful, it's easy and it's educational.
The sesame street children's app is geared towards military children providing fun ways to get them excited and prepared for their next big moving adventure.
"It was about packing your stuff, and your carry on when you go to the plane," explained Kyera. "And there's saying good-byes and being sad."
The interactive experience isn't only for children. Parents can also log on and look at tips on how to make your big move go a little smoother.
"It gives them points that they can go through, kind of a checklist, make sure they're covering any information they need to cover and from there they can open communication," said mother Divina McFarland, who also grew up as a military kid.
The McFarlands don't know when they're next big move will be, but they're hoping to stay in Abilene for a while longer.
"This is our home town for now, we're staying here," the two said.
The big moving adventure app is free and available for download from the App Store, Google Play and Amazon for Kindle Fire.
