The San Angelo Bandit's are unstoppable and undefeated at home, but something switches once the boys hit the buses. San Angelo is zero and six on the road and coaches and players are still trying to figure out what the answer is to their away game slump. According to head coach, Joe Brannen, it has nothing to do with their physical talent, but instead their mental complacency.
The team has all the talent needed to put up the big points and make the big hits, but once the score tips in their favor, the Bandit's become comfortable which tips the advantage towards their opponents. Joe explains, "not getting complacent when we are ahead, we had a couple good offensive games in a row, we started off that way and thought things would just naturally come to us." Coach continued to say, "in this game you have to go out and earn every single play and hopefully we can get those issues fixed and figure out what we need to do to get a road win as those are pretty elusive to us right now."
It isn't just the Bandit's who are having a hard time winning on the road, it seems to be a common issue in the Lonestar Football League, but lets hope the team can figure it out quick. With only two games left in the regular season, and both of them being away, it's vital the Bandit's learn to win on the road.
