Ricky Cody joined the Wake Up West Texas team in February 2017. Ricky is an Indiana native who attended Valparaiso University where he earned his degree in meteorology.

Ricky started his career as a multimedia journalist for KDLT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Sioux Falls, SD. While in the Rushmore State, Ricky reported on the numbing cold air and dangerous blizzard conditions -- two weather features he hopes not to forecast here!

Ricky also spent a lot of time covering politics on both a local and national stage. He had the privilege to interview former and incoming politicians including President Donald Trump and Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright.

Ricky is happy to call west Texas his new home and looks forward to meeting the people of this great area. When he's not forecasting the weather, you can find him exploring restaurants, hiking scenic trails or volunteering throughout the community.

You can connect with him via email at racody@tegna.com or find him on Facebook at Meteorologist Ricky Cody and Twitter @rcodytv. If you see Ricky out and about, be sure to stop by and say, "hi!"
