SAN ANGELO, Texas — Angelo State University's University Theatre will present the musical drama “The Last Five Years” for its second 2019 summer dinner theatre, beginning July 25, in the ASU Modular Theatre, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

Performances are at 8 p.m. July 25-27 and Aug. 1-3, with dinner served at 6:45 p.m. There will also be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, with lunch served at 12:45 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for the general public; $15 for non-ASU students and Arts at ASU subscribers; and $12.50 for ASU students and ASU Activity Card holders.

A modern musical by Jason Robert Brown, “The Last Five Years” chronicles the five-year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up and from break-up to meeting. An emotionally-powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their 20s, who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards; while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically. The two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Tickets will be on sale for Arts at ASU subscribers Monday, July 15, at the ASU box office in the EFA Building. Ticket sales for the general public will be available July 17.

The box office is open 2-6 p.m. weekdays and will also be open from 3-5 p.m. July 27 and Aug. 3. For reservations and/or ticket information, call 325-942-2000.
