Events are planned throughout the Big Country and Concho Valley to honor veterans of the U.S. military.

Here's a forecast from Meteorologist Joe DeCarlo - Weather for the Veterans Day parades Saturday morning looks absolutely fantastic. It will start off chilly with temperatures near 40 degrees at 8 a.m.

Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny, with temperatures set to warm to the mid to upper 50s by the time the parade starts at 11 a.m. Highs Saturday will be near 70 degrees, with mostly sunny conditions.

9 p.m. - A Veterans Salute with tributes to Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith, Concho Pearl Icehouse, 1615 S. Chadbourne St.


8 a.m. - ACTS Inaugural Car Show and Children's Fair, Farmers Market Pavilion, 609 S. Oakes St.

11 a.m. - Veterans Day Celebration, The Casual Pint, 19 E. Concho Ave.

11 a.m. - Veterans Day Parade, downtown San Angelo
