"Saturday Night Live" alum Rob Schneider is set to make a stop in San Angelo early next year as part of his "I Have Issues" stand-up comedy tour.
The actor/comedian, best known for his 1990-1994 stint on SNL, his role as a bumbling sex worker in "Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo" and a glut of Adam Sandler movies, will perform a stand-up set Saturday, Feb. 26, at Murphey Performance Hall.
Born in San Francisco, Schneider started his stand-up career in high school and was a regular guest on local radio, according to a press release from his promoter. An opening slot for Dennis Miller garnered him an appearance on the HBO’s “13th Annual Young Comedians” special also hosted by Miller. The special led to a position as a writer for SNL in 1988, becoming a featured player in 1990.
More recently, Schneider starred in the CBS sitcom “Rob,” loosely based on his real life; the Netflix reality show "Real Rob" which Schneider financed, starred, directed and produced; and the 2020 Netflix comedy special “Asian Momma, Mexican Kids.”
Pre-sale tickets for next year's show are available at San Angelo PAC's website, using the promo code "ISSUES."
