Fort Concho National Historic Landmark will host Christmas at the Stables from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 13, at 630 S. Oakes St.

Under the direction of Angelo State University Professor Constance Kelley, the San Angelo Community Band will perform an hour-long program of Christmas favorites.

“We decided it would be a gift to the community if we could create smaller events in December for our citizens to enjoy,” Bob Bluthardt, Fort Concho manager, said. “Regrettably due to COVID, we can only have 100 people, but that could change.”

The repertoire will include a mix of traditional and modern music such as “Sleigh Ride,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” and much more.

“It is free for everyone,” Bluthardt said. “There will be a first-come, first-serve and we will open the doors at 2:30.”

Masks will be required for the event, and all seats will be six feet apart to meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. The concert will also be broadcast live on Fort Concho’s Facebook page.

“It is a fun event, it's free and family-friendly,” Bluthardt said. “We hope we make 100 people happy.”
