Fourth of July firework shows, parades, events in West Texas

TEXAS, USA — It's time to make plans for Independence Day! Here are events in the Big Country and Concho Valley to take family and friends. 

Leave the fireworks to the pros. Burn bans are in effect in Taylor and Tom Green counties. It's also illegal to pop fireworks in the city limits of Abilene and San Angelo.

BIG COUNTRY

July 3

4 p.m. - Westex Connect's 15th annual Fireworks Spectacular, Zoo Festival Gardens, 2070 Zoo Lane

5 p.m. - Third annual July 3rd Freedom Fest benefiting the Zephyr Volunteer Fire Department, 12601 CR 291 - ZEPHYR

July 4

10 p.m. (approximately) - 4th of July Fireworks Show, Bell Park, 801 Market St. - BAIRD

CONCHO VALLEY

July 2 

9 a.m. - Christoval VFD Firecracker 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run, Walk & Bike, Christoval Park (register at christovalfire.com) - CHRISTOVAL

July 3

Noon - Second annual Downtown San Angelo "Star Spangled Banner" concert and fireworks show, Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial RiverStage, 16 E. Avenue A
