The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is hosting Family Day Health & Wellness, a free event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 1 Love St.
SAMFA is partnering with Ballet San Angelo to present a Family Day that focuses on health and wellness. Ballet San Angelo will be participating with mini-dance and fitness sessions. There will also be performances by Prep Academy San Angelo at 11 a.m., followed by the academy’s hip-hop dance class.
There will also be a river clean-up with Fort Concho Elementary School, as well as opportunities to participate in mini Pi-Yo, Zumba and body barre classes in the museum’s meeting room. In the education studio, there will be free art projects for all ages throughout the day.

11 a.m. - Prep Academy dance performances - junior elite prep and senior elite prep
11:15 a.m. - Prep Academy adult hip-hop dance class
11:30 a.m. - Ballet San Angelo dance performances
Noon - PiYo mini-class
12:30 p.m. - Body barre mini-class
1 p.m. - Zumba mini-class
Between performances, healthy snacks will be served by the Junior League of San Angelo's provisional class. JLSA will be onsite to creatively educate children about healthy eating through its "Kids in the Kitchen" program, which was established by the Association of Junior Leagues International to help combat childhood obesity.
JLSA volunteers will help attendees assemble a themed snack that can easily be made at home with the recipe and activity sheet that will also be distributed at the event.
Family Days are held on the second Saturday of each month and are always free. A different theme is featured every month and sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts, HEB and The Sterling Turner Foundation.
