Angelo State faculty hosts violin and piano recital

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Angelo State University's Department of Visual and Performing Arts will present a faculty recital, "Sonatas for Violin and Piano", at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The concert will take place in the EFA Building's Eldon Black Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. It will feature Dr. Fagner Rocha, director of the ASU Symphony Orchestra, on violin; and Hunter Mabery, ASU staff accompanist, on piano.

Rocha and Mabery will multiple pieces, including:

  • "Sonata for Violin and Continuo No. 8 in E minor" by Arcangelo Corelli
  • "Sonata for Violin and Piano in G major" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  • "Sonata No. 3 in G minor" by Franz Schubert

The concert will end with a performance of "Liebeslied" by Fritz Kreisler.

Everyone attending the concert is required to complete ASU's visitor wellness screening (angelo.edu/wellness-screening-visitor) and be prepared to show their wellness screening badge before entering the EFA Building. Masks/face coverings are also encouraged, but are not mandatory.
