The Angelo State University Mayer Museum has you covered on all the information you need on these new skeleton pieces that were recently added to the collection.

The museum was named after Richard and Betty Joe Mayer in hopes to continue educating others amongst their charitable interest. This was their dream and to make it more exciting, adding dinosaurs is something that they wanted in particular. Seven new dinosaur skeletons were recently added to its collection, making a total of 17 skeletons in the exhibit.

Museum Curator Lisa Highsmith said that each time you visit, you will see something different.

"The Mayer Museum always has something new and we change out our exhibits roughly about three and a half to four months, except for the dinosaurs. They stay. Our dinosaurs come from two companies, one out of Colorado called Tree Bold and the other from West Virginia called Prehistoric Planet," Highsmith explained.

There are a number of fossils and other historic items that you can see, as well as a mini scavenger hunt to test out your knowledge on the skeletons and more.

If you are looking for something to do during the summer, or really any time of the year, the Mayer Museum is located on the Angelo State University campus and is open to the public. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and to make it even better, it's free.
