CALF brings in visitors from all over the state

The Storybook Express Train is one of the favorite attractions at the CALF.

ABILENE, Texas — The 8th annual Children’s Art and Literacy Festival continues to reel in visitors from all over the state. Roughly 6,000 people signed up for the festival activities this weekend.

"My mom is the one who saw it on the internet somewhere and told us about it,” visitor from Harker Heights, Jenny Cresswell said.

She is a literacy coach herself and has been bringing her daughters to the festival for three years now.

“Getting kids to imagine and go into this world that is of make believe and making them feel like their part of these books…it's always a fun time, we've loved coming every year and we've kind of made it a family tradition.” Cresswell said.

Events will be going on until Saturday afternoon, for event details, go to, https://www.abilenecac.org/calf/.
