Annual DRI pumpkin patch kicks off this fall season

The fall festival supports those with disabilities at Disability Resources Incorporated.

ABILENE, Texas — The annual DRI pumpkin patch is in full swing! One can enjoy hay rides, photo ops, and reading time for free.

"There's no fees or anything, we do accept donations, but it's just a fun time for people to come out and it's just a great deal for our folks to get to be involved and sell some pumpkins,” DRI vocational director, Keith Glover said.

All proceeds help support the nonprofit whose mission is to be a safe place for those with disabilities.

The festival wouldn’t be possible without the help from the community.

"From the very beginning, most of our folks are right out here when the truck comes out to unload. Volunteers, man we are so fortunate to have Hardin Simmons, ACU, McMurry,” Glover said.

You can find them open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.
