ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene-Taylor Public Health District reported 23 new confirmed COVID-19 cases for Abilene-Taylor County Thursday.
The health district also reported the death of a man in his 80s with pre-existing health conditions, bringing the total number of deaths in Taylor County to six.
One new recovery was also reported with 18 current hospitalizations.
As of Thursday, there have been 8,572 tests administered in Abilene-Taylor County. Of those tests, 446 have been confirmed cases.
According to a Facebook post from the City of Abilene, the health district is working to include antigen testing results in the daily reporting.
The post said the health district has identified 87 positive COVID-19 cases, as of June 25, through antigen testing; however, those cases have not been added to the daily graphic or the active case count.
