SAN ANGELO, Texas — Gone are the days of a perfect resume or interview securing a job for you - in 2020, what you post on your social media accounts could be a deciding factor.
Some local employers say before they even meet an applicant, they might first look at that person's social media.
"You want to know what kind of person someone is...they need to be presentable - that's important," Nicole Dolinsek, Goen Tree Care employee, said.
Dolinsek is not alone. According to a 2018 CareerBuilder survey, 70% of employers use social media to screen candidates during the hiring process, and approximately 43% of employers use social media to check up on current employees.
