Meals for the Elderly is not only known for providing hot, nutritious meals -- they also focus on personal comfort and safety.
So, fans, water, heaters, blankets and microwaves are provided all year long.
Due to hot temperatures in West Texas, Meals for the Elderly wants to make sure they keep the elderly cool. So, a fan drive has started.
“Well, one of the things that does happen as you get older, you like things warm. But with the seniors, they don’t always realize that their body is starting to stress out from the heat. So, we have found through the years that the fans provide ventilation. It provides comfort that they might need,” Charlyn Ocker, president of Meals for the Elderly, said.
Meals for the Elderly welcomes the entire community to look out for the elderly in more than one way and help donate some fans all year long.
