San Angelo resident is looking for a home for lost kittens

A litter of kittens is one of the many animals needing a home in the Greenwood neighborhood.

SAN ANGELO, Texas —  For an owner a pet is only part of their life, but for a pet their owner and home is their whole life.

San Angelo resident Mary McArthur found a litter of kittens underneath her husbands truck.

The kittens are not the only animals running around looking for home. She has seen multiple dogs and cats being left out on the street.

"Be aware these animals its not their fault you know that people don't take care of them," McArthur said. "That's ridiculous it is like going out there and leaving a child."

McArthur is already a pet owner. She owns two dogs, and three cats. She is currently caring for the kittens, but her and her husband are starting to feel the toll it takes financially.

"We spend  a hundred dollars a week on pet food," McArthur said.

She has even seen an rise in animals running around her Greenwood neighborhood.

Multiple times she has reached out to animal shelters, but because of COVID-19 she has said it has been a challenge to get a hold of anyone.

All McArthur wants to do is find these kittens a home and to make they sure they dont end up back on the streets.

She is bringing awareness to the neighborhood to ensure people do not abandon their pets anymore.

"Be aware of the situation you know, people leave over here across from the apartments and they just leave their animals you know, it's ridiculous," McArthur said.

If anyone is interested in taking in kittens you get more information and contact Fox West Texas.
