Jacob Stevens, a ninth grader at TLCA, completed his Eagle Scout badge over the summer by helping prepare Howard College San Angelo for emergency situations.

“I organized fundraisers and accumulated over $2,500, acquired materials and assembled 27 trauma kits to be utilized during a natural disaster or any other incident that may result in a need for emergency medical treatment and triage,” Stevens said.

After learning that many school campuses in San Angelo were prepared, or preparing, similar materials, Stevens chose to focus his project on Howard College.

The kits have been placed in strategic locations around the campus, according to a release from the school.
