SAN ANGELO, Texas — The White Rose Bereavement group is hosting its annual “Walk to Remember” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6. The walk will begin near the pine tree behind the old Central Fire Station at City Park (corner of Twohig Avenue and Magdalen Street).

The walk will proceed to the Baby’s Rose Garden at the Shannon Women & Children’s Hospital building, 201 E. Harris Ave., where a rose bush will be planted in loving memory of infants who have died.

The event is open to anyone who has ever experienced the loss of an infant or knows someone who has suffered such a loss.

New to the group this year, there will be White Rose teddy bears available to purchase and donate to a family that has lost a baby through early pregnancy loss, stillbirth or newborn death. (To donate in memory of your baby or a baby that you love, you can purchase a bear with any donation amount. The bear will be tagged with the baby’s name and given to a future family experiencing a loss.)

The walk is designed to raise public awareness and to ensure families receive the sensitivity they deserve.
